The Maynard Wedding Photography
The Maynard is a large country house/hotel situated in the Peak District village of Grindleford, in Derbyshire.
We like it for a number of reasons. It has well looked after gardens with views over the Peak District hills which are ideal for wedding photography. The main Maynard wedding room has fabulous vaulted ceilings and oak panelling, and in contrast there is a modern and fashionable bar area. So, all in all plenty of opportunities for good wedding photography!
For the adventurous, The Maynard is situated a very short drive from several Peak District beauty spots, so make sure you allow enough time to hop in the car and make the short excursion for some great wedding photograhy on the wild side.

April showers were the order of the day for Mike and Marie’s wedding at the Maynard in Grindleford, but we still managed to get outside for the “big group” shot and for a very quick Bride and Groom wedding photography session with Mike and Marie before their meal.
The very elegant function room in the Maynard with it’s paneled walls and ornate ceiling is ideal for civil weddings. Even in early spring the gardens are attractive. In between the showers we had bright low sunshine (which is not ideal for wedding photography!), but we did manage to find some open shade with early blossom trees forming a pretty background.
Marie and Mike very bravely showed off their Salsa routine, specially learned for their first dance. Very impressive, and a possible early contender for best first dance of the year!
