Kenwood Hall
Kenwood Hall Wedding Photography
Kenwood Hall is a great hotel on the western edge of Sheffield, around a mile from the city centre and within easy reach of the glorious Peak District. With 12 acres of beautiful parkland and landscaped grounds, it is a fabulous place for a wedding or wedding reception and for your wedding photography. The hotel can cope with large or small weddings and is a great mix of old and new architecture – so something for everyone.
The original building is Victorian, built as the home of Sheffield cutlery manufacturer George Wostenholm in 1845 and used as a home until 1922. In 1924 the house became a hotel for the first time, and has had many owners and different identities since then. In 2000 Whitbread PLC acquired the hotel and invested in a £3.5 million programme of improvements. The current owners, Principal Hayley, took over in 2007. The hotel now has 114 guest rooms to go with the wonderful grounds and open spaces. Within the parkland and grounds surrounding the hotel there is a fantastic lake, with a path all the way around – a dream for your wedding photography. The hotel also has a great swimming pool and spa for wedding guests to enjoy, and plenty of on-site parking – very welcome in a hotel so close to a major city centre.
For wedding photography we particularly enjoy the lake and the grounds, the lovely rooms in the original Victorian part of the hotel which allow space for a disco but also room for guests to get some peace and quiet if they liked, the great staff and the wonderful buffet bar-b-que!

Jenna and Ben were married at St Anne’s church in Buxton, and afterwards de-camped to Kenwood Hall in Sheffield for their wedding reception. Fortunately the weather in Sheffield was somewhat better than in Buxton (no surprises there then!) and we were able to do their wedding photography oudoors. After their meal, Jenna and Ben took a stroll down by the small boating lake in the grounds of Kenwood Hall for an early evening bride and groom wedding photography session.
