Lee Wood Hotel, Buxton, Derbyshire

Lee Wood Hotel Wedding Photography

The Lee Wood Hotel is a charming Georgian hotel that provides an intimate setting for weddings and opportunities for great wedding photography. Civil ceremonies take place in the bright conservatory. The conservatory can seat wedding parties of up to 120 guests, and for larger groups there is the Oak Paneled Pendennis suite.

There is a small lawn at the front of the Lee Wood Hotel surrounded by attractive gardens which is ideal for wedding photography. If time and weather permit the Pavilion Gardens are just a short drive away, and we commonly drive couples to the gardens for bride and groom wedding photographs, then return them to the Lee Wood in time for their wedding breakfast!

This wedding was a real family affair, with Jonathan’s father, John, performing the wedding ceremony in great style in the wonderful surroundings of St John’s Church in Buxton. Rose’s family came all the way from the Czech Republic to be there, and there was no language barrier as far as we could see! The reception was held at the Lee Wood Hotel in Buxton. Hats off to John Hudghton for repeating part of the service in Czech, and Rose’s father for making his speech at the Lee Wood Hotel in fluent English.

Emma and Ben chose a squally day to get married. Starting at the lovely church in Taddington, before going to the Lee Wood Hotel in Buxton for their reception. On route, we stopped off along a leafy Peak District lane for some additional wedding photography with the Bride and Groom. Something to bear in mind if you are thinking of getting married at the Church of St Michael in Taddington – the Vicar does not permit ANY photography during the service, which is a big pity.

Lisa and Graham were married at the Lee Wood Hotel in Buxton, Derbyshire and here are a selection of images to prove it. Funny how some weddings really stand out in our memory and this is one of them. Many reasons, but Lisa’s fabulous blue dress form Harvey Nic’s was definately one of them and the best mans “performance” was definately another. Pics not really suitable for posting here but there are a couple on our facebook page. WARNING: adult content – not for the faint hearted!

Joanne and Matthew – Lee Wood Hotel, Buxton

by daveg on September 2, 2010

We first met Joanne and Matthew what seems like an age ago. They both live very busy lives “down South”, so had to arrange their wedding at the Lee Wood Hotel in Buxton on flying visits to the Peak District. But what a great job they did! They even managed to pick one of the best days of the year weather wise, and the day went off perfectly.

It is not uncommon for us to kidnap the happy couple after their meal for half an hour or so, and whisk them down to the local park, the beautiful Pavilion Gardens, for some relaxed wedding photography in the early evening – often the best time for wedding photography. At this time of the evening you can usually rely on the Pavilion Gardens to be fairly quiet so photography is no problem. However, on this particular evening the park was packed with people in town for a performance of “Shakespeare in the Park”. We were down there for nearly an hour and a half and struggled to get Joanne and Matthew away and back to the reception at the Lee Wood Hotel. We got a whole bunch of great pictures. Here are just a few of them. A few more on our Facebook Page here.
